We formed a close partnership with the designers Russell Sage Studio and main contractor ISG to furnish the dramatic space at the Bread Street Kitchen restaurant and bar. Set in a large warehouse-style room that draws inspiration from the East London area’s industrial roots the interior has a contemporary yet remarkably cozy feel. We developed high stools, tables, banquette seating and other furniture to authentically sit alongside the reclaimed and vintage furniture selected for the interior.
Bread Street Kitchen’s vast space has been cleverly broken up by the use of banquette seating defining the bar and restaurant areas. Each area has been treated in a different way. The Raw bar seating features deep sewn flutes to the back rest and sewn detail to the seat, while the restaurant seating is detailed with piped cushions and pulled-in buttons to the back rest. All of the seating is upholstered in bespoke leather that gives an authentic lived-in feel.
The seating was fitted with integral oak veneered capping and plinth which surround decorative structural columns throughout the building. We complemented the seating with decorative polished brass rails to the top of the capping along with curtain rails and luggage racks. Whilst the seating formed the major part of the job we also supplied all of the table tops throughout the restaurant. Marble, pewter, solid mixed timber tops and solid oak tops with stainless steel inlays were all combined to give an eclectic look. We also developed two industrial looking machine stools to be used against the bars and drinks shelves, these were made to look aged through rusting and exposing raw welds on the mild steel frames. The end result was one that we are particularly proud of, being delivered on time and to our own high standards.
